Here I Am To Worship

Light of the World
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes
Let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of life spent with You

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor

I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Verse of the Day

Yup, that's right Yizhen.. its THE Uni exam period yet again...! =p Its usually super stressful... cos of so many smart and hardworking people around that you've to compete against. On the bright side though... there's usually a nice long holiday after that to look forward to! =) Anyway, congratulations for the completion of your attachment! Finally can return to normal school life.

(No holidays for me this time though cos my attachment starts on 21st Nov. Its my turn now heh. I'll be attached to Keppel Land at Bugis Junction upstairs, hehe.)

Thanks for the quick post Jocelyn and being open about it. Would Long John Silver's be ok then? I love the chicken pieces there =) Well, the place we eat is actually secondary.. what I look forward to more is a time of quality fellowship with all of ya =)

Haha, we must compile and share with us your list of cheap eats! I thought the NTU chicken rice stall was the the cheapest, but it look like its met its match! =p If any of you have alternative ideas for cheap eats around church, just post here k?

Have a blessed week ahead everyone!

James

BTW: The case for my exam paper this Friday was just posted today... its on IPC... wonder if any of ya bought their computers last time. Its a brand that has faded away already.

Anyway, James can we go somewhere cheap cheap please please? haha. I'm kind of over-the-budget recently from financing my driving lessons and obligatory birthday presents and I really cannot bear to spend on food (that is going to come out from the other side anyway =P). Which explains the sushi and the fried rice..ahem. haha. And it seems like yesterday that I splurged on Thai express (yes! $7 was a huge splurge for me!)! I feel so guilty! I'm really a cheapo food junkie. I can tell you all the cheapest places for food and entertainment. Like at JE there's this stall that sells chicken rice for $1.50 at this day and age!!! Okay I could go on and on..but. Hee. And if we don't spend time travelling we can save travelling expenses plus spend more quality time together! *hinthint*

Updates.......

Hi everyone! Hope that all of you had a good restful weekend! =) I certainly needed it after having my toughest day of the sem on Monday last week.. 2 presentations and 2 group report datelines in a day, all of which counted towards the final grade! *Whew*

Well, here are some important updates:

Number 1
Next week's sandwich-making competition has been postponed! So instead of recipe suggestions, I need suggestions on a new place for lunch once again heh! As far as I know, none of us are involved in coir prac, so I'm thinking of Carl's Junior...? =) Most expensive than usual fastfood but its huge so can share.

Number 2
There'll be a Vision Statement and Mission Statement test next week! Its more of a refresher actually... something related to them struck me while I was studying (yes.. studying! haha), and I'll share with all of you next week =)

Number 3
Here's a Thanksgiving to God... for winning the most outspoken person in one of my classes this sem! hee =) It came as a surprise I must admit because I wasn't aware of this award in the first place. I received a little gift from my tutor.

Well, that's about all... do remember to keep praying for the names that you've been given k? And if you haven't given me a name yet, hope that you can do so by next Sunday =) Its time to grow and bear fruit by reaching out.

Back to exam revision... take care and have an awesome week ahead! Drop a blog post if something interesting happens! Take care!

Oh, have you guys and gals been following the news of late? If you have, you would have heard about the terrible earthquake in Pakistan. We still have 2 and a half months to go before this year comes to a close but there have already been so many major natural disasters - Asian tsunami, hurricane Katrina, Pakistan earthquake. I cannot remember the last time that there were so many in a year.

As I was reading Proverbs for my QT last week, 2 verses caught my attention and I've been intending to share with all of you. They are Proverbs 3:25-26.

25 Have no fear of sudden disaster
or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,

26 for the LORD will be your confidence
and will keep your foot from being snared.

I'm not sure how all of you felt when you heard news of these natural disasters. However you felt, I hope that these words of God will give you peace and comfort. 'Have No Fear'... and live every day knowing that you have lived a life that will please God. Amen?

Hey everyone!!!

Wow, it was a surprise to see the 2 new blog entries... and it was certainly a sweet delight heh! =) It was especially cos its been one somewhat 'crazy' week for me already so far. 3 presentations presented, and a whole lot of other school work to think about. Put simply, 'Final Year STRESS', haha.

I absolutely enjoyed making lunch together that afternoon and going MAD together! =p Big thanks indeed to Jocelyn for the croissants!!! I was so surprised the day when you smsed me about needing an oven, haha. By the way, I still have that can of Ligo cocktail fruit, will bring it this Saturday to share! =) We certainly missed you Yizhen, especiallly your baking skills! Hee. There'll be cell lunch again next month... *hint hint*

Oh yes, do remember to do your Hallelujahwork alright?! haha. I thought it was a really good sermon by Eng Kwang. There spiritual activities we're supposed to try out each day this week are: comtemplation, nature appreciation, study of God's Word, praise & worship, prayer, service, fellowship and hearing the Word of God.

Alritey... gtg! Take care and look forward to meeting all of ya again this Saturday!!! =)

Settlers' Cafe @ Chancery

I'm not about to let this blog go down the way of desolation. So here comes an entry!

We had a really good time two Sundays ago, making pita-bread chicken sandwich and eating Jocelyn's finger-licking-good home-made croissants. As proof of our actual involvement in the sandwich making, here're two photos of me and Jocelyn with the finished product!

Here's me, looking quite the part of a chef. OK maybe not... The mutilated chicken is the result of Jocelyn's less-than perfect skills! Obviously I wasn't responsible for the mess! :P

Actually she did most of the wrapping and stuffing.

Missing from these pictures are Arlene and James, who helped to bake (?) the pita! We had so much food that we couldn't finish and had to share our abundance with Kevin! Hehe...

Then we had some fun looking funny as we played Mad Magazine! :) Lishan's cell was also there and they were playing Redemption (the game we took one hour to decipher in May) and we shared a time of great joy and laughter. To those who missed out, don't fret! There's always next time!
